Captains day 2026

This year's Captain's Day took place on Sunday, 30th August, and there was a really good entry of 50 members.
Everyone enjoyed the day which remained dry until the very end.

The competition was played over 12 ends with two trial ends at the start. Six rinks were used with two teams (of mostly four players) playing each other on each rink. The aim is to get the biggest shot difference over your opponents. At the end everyone had a welcome cuppa and some very nice cakes and buns.

We would like to thank Captains Gay Greene and James Lanigan for organising this most enjoyable event. Also many thanks to Hazel Higgins and Carol Lyons for organising the food and to everyone who made the tasty treats.

This year's winners were Tom Byrne, Denis Woods, Catherine Hackett and Lee Waddell - congratulations on a great win.

The runners-up were a triples team with Derek Harte, Colm Brennan and Paul Kingston - well done to them too.
