Senior Challenge Cup Final.

Our Senior Challenge Cup finalists can feel proud after a great effort in CYM.

Our Wednesday Division 2 Team put in a brave performance in the League Cup Final for the Senior Challenge Cup.

Having played all their matches on grass to reach the final, they had to face Clontarf, who were the home team in the draw, on yet another grass surface, CYM.

In the first round, they played Westmanstown away. They had a 19-shot win there, which was a great result, and this brought them to an away semi-final against Crumlin. Again they put in a strong performance against the most successful Club in recent times and won by an impressive 28 shots.

The final was played on Sunday, 13th September, in CYM. It was a hard fought game but Clontarf's experience on grass probably just made the difference on the day. It went down to the last end and the final score was 59 (Clontarf) to 54 (Dun Laoghaire). We want to say congratulations to Clontarf on a great win. Also a big congratulations and hard luck to our Wednesday Team who have bowled so well this season.

We would like to thank CYM for providing their green for the final and our supporters, Eithne, Denis and Breda, for coming to cheer us on. Also we would particularly like to thank Mary Kenny, from Leinster BC, who umpired the match and did the Cup presentation afterwards.
